Oft misunderstood soul. Shy, reserved, likes to stay in the background, but inevitably mistaken as not shy, extrovert etc. Originally meant to be a culinary blog, but in due course discovered man does not live on cake alone..hence the waffle.

KLUE Martell Dinner At Isthmus

Last Friday, we attended the Klue Martell Function held at Isthmus. It's been a while since we caught up with people from the Chubby Sabahan (actually, not so Chubby anymore) crowd, so it was an inspired idea if you ask me, to get together the gang, for the dinner, because, 1. it was at Isthmus, 2. it had free flow alcohol, all be it brandy(not my favourite, but heck, who cares)

We were greeted with Martell punches, (as in the drink, not a physical sock in the face), which were actually rather palatable. Legendary food blogger, Masak Masak aka Boolicious was also there on different table with Splashie Boy. On yet another table, another prolific blogger, MeiYen was there with her other half.

It's always fun company, when Red Planet and gang are around. The recently married Miss D looked resplendent in her new conservative outfits. Gone are those days of plunging necklines and sleeveless clothes, now that she is a good wife.

We had the avocado starter, which is always yummy, and a side order of the monsoon oysters. As we were all ravenous at this juncture, I completely forgot to take pictures. I had the fish for mains, and the dessert, homemade mango and coconut icecream was absolutely yummy. We also supplemented our dessert with an order of the chocolate truffle cake.

Poor Turtle

Wretched Civet Cats. They reached into Boy's turtle tank and helped themselves to a turtle feast. Feel quite sad, coz when we bought the turtle, it was the size of a 50 sen coin, and just before it's untimely death, it was almost the size of my handphone. All that was left is the shell!!!! How horrible!!!!

Countdown And Beyond

Can't complain. From Christmas right up to New Year, I had something on every night, be it with family or with friends. Hosted a few dinners, ...intimate dinner parties of 8-12 are becoming the preferred types these days, rather than a party for 30, or 40, a potluck Christmas champagne hi tea, was invited for several wonderful Christmas parties, ....this liver needs a rest. New Year's resolution, though resolutions are for the imperfect, is maybe to .......err.......no lah, I can't.

New Year's eve was spent atop the Empire tower, where we were afforded a fantastic view of the city, and the fireworks. One of those rare occasions when we were actually higher than the fireworks.

The view from where we were

Anyway, suffice to say, I was suitably high, in every sense of the word, on NY eve.
